A price means nothing without the scope behind it
Two roofers can quote the same house thousands apart and both be telling the truth, because they are pricing different work. One is stripping to the deck and replacing the flashing; the other is laying over and bending the old step flashing back into place. Unless somebody writes down which, you are comparing numbers that are not comparable. So the scope goes first here, in words, and the figures follow it — one to mend what you have, one to replace it.
Three things we do not bend on
We say when a repair will do
Telling you the roof has years left costs us the bigger job today and is the reason the phone rings again in four years.
Nothing extra without a conversation
Rotten decking under a covering is common and is never a reason to start work you have not agreed to. You see it photographed, you hear the number, then you decide.
One crew, one stretch of county
We do not follow storms around the state. Everything we take on is close enough that coming back is a morning, not an expedition.
Have somebody look properly
Free, and you keep the scope and the photographs whatever you decide.
